The Plym Valley Railway is pleased to announce the purchase of a 1957 Class 101 from Cambrian Transport based at the Barry Tourist Railway consisting of RDS 977963+RDB 977964.
The operational two carriage first generation unit will arrive later this week. Crew training will shortly commence on the ex Network Rail unit known as "Iris II" which saw work on test trains across the network before being preserved at the West Somerset Railway and then being moved to Barry.
The Plym Valley Railway is excited to welcome the DMU and are looking forward to the flexibility and operational benefits it will bring.
