SAVE OUR STEAM

The Plym Valley Railway Co. Ltd want to be in a position to be able to buy a steam locomotive and secure standard gauge steam train services in Plymouth! After hiring locomotives from private owners we have been offered the chance to purchase an operational steam locomotive. 

Daniel Phillips, Company Chairman says "With your help we could help to secure a steam locomotive on the Plym Valley Railway for years to come. Your donation will help us to pursue the purchase of a locomotive of our own- one of our main goals as a railway. Please help your local volunteer run railway and give generously to our appeal. We really appreciate all donations."

We want to reassure all of our passengers, supporters and visitors that out booked events and services this year are unaffected, subject to the usual caveats. 

Please help us to reach our target of £40,000.

We understand that everyone has been affected by the current economic climate in and around current world events.  

We welcome and appreciate donations or share purchases of any size but will reward supporters for donations of the following amounts.

£20 Donations– An invitation to a supporter’s ‘Thank you’ steam running day sent upon the closure of the appeal.

£100 Donations– The above + an A3 sized commemorative steam locomotive poster & thank you letter from Company Chairman

£500 Donations– The above + your name on a plaque in the locomotive’s cab and drive of a steam locomotive.

£1000+ Donations– The above + a cast replica plate from the locomotive purchased.
