The TKH Locomotive ‘Vanguard’ had its newly constructed coal bunker lifted into place on the locomotive. In the image the locomotive can be seen shunted into Marsh Mills platform for the first time since arrival.
The wheels and axle boxes of our 0-6-0 locomotive ‘Byfield’ have been sent to the West Somerset Railway to allow the journals to be turned and for work to take place on the axle boxes. The frames of the locomotive (pictured) can then be lifted back onto the wheels.
Steam locomotive Merlin was steamed after a successful steam test with the boiler examiner.
Work on the Class 117 DMU car continues. The bulkhead in the guard’s compartment was rubbed down and work also continued attaching fixing pieces to the ceiling panels to allow the curve ceiling panels to be added.
